SST Super Short Track Racing Series
In an effort to combine the rules and regulations of specific divisions within short track asphalt oval racing, the SST (Super Short Track) Racing series has been developed. A combination of motor sport facilities working together to improve the volume and integrity of the sport.
Long term Goal
To provide a sanctioning co-op, in the interest of all regional racing facilities, working together as a united team. To utilize strength in numbers and create product contingencies, point funds and advertisement networks. To develop a marketing plan for SST Home Track acknowledgment and ‘race team recognition.’
There are many credible sanctioning groups on a national level, but none that have been able to reach the growing concerns of the local racer and short track motor sport promoter of the Northeast. We have seen the growth that comes from uniformity and consistency in the short term. The SST Series Sanctioning Group will continue to improve and capitalize on the growing interest.

The SST organization (Super Short Track Racing Series)
Is fast becoming recognized across the northeast as a viable direction for the short track asphalt racing industry. Mutual rules and regulations, a common points system and quality series management is noted for the series success.
Since the first official season of 2004, the SST Modified Series grew in all aspects. Participating racetracks increased to eight facilities, including the famed ‘Race of Champions’. The tour stretched across New York State in to Pennsylvania, along with SST representatives visiting the North-South Shoot-out in Concord, N. Carolina. In 2005, registered touring teams increased from 32 to 78 and the overall participating teams competing within the series, reached over 120.
Scheduled to take place this spring, is the similar organization of the full-bodied Super Stocks of the region. Stock Cars designed to resemble the Winston Cup Cars of the 70’s and 80’s will excite fans with close side by side short track action. The tour will not be as demanding as the SST Modifieds, but will be just as prestigious.
Please take additional time to review the ‘Grass Roots Contingency Program’(Marketing). For custom marketing packages including; Series naming rights; required Series Product & Promotions and additional information, we can set up a specific time to meet. Our goal is to grow your product awareness along with the SST - Super Short Track Racing Series!

Formation of the SST Modified & Super Stock, Short Track Racing Series
A combination effort to create a series similar to the most successful governing bodies of auto racing, has now taken shape for open wheel Sportsman Modifieds of the Northeast. With strong credibility and desire to create equal rules among participating SST motor sport facilities, race teams from across the region are confident that great competition, increased purses and team recognition has taken shape in 2004. Although an open mind to the development of the SST organization is being stressed to interested parties, management understands this is going to be a growing process for the good of all short track oval racing.
Jim Majchrzak (owner of Wyoming County International Speedway). Chris Zacharias (once promoter of Tioga Speedway), Doug Yeo and Dennis Murphy Jr. (Head tech inspector) helped to support the creation of the SST (Super Short Track) Racing Series. Additional input from John Mullie of Spencer Speedway, Bob Stapleton of Chemung Speedrome and Andrew Harpell from the “Race of Champions Modified Tour” has helped to culminate this historical motor sport achievement. Engine builders and race team representatives continue to offer assistance and support to insure SST Series success.
Through out Upstate New York, three (3)‘SST Home Track’ motor sport facilities participated during 2004, with more than 120 different teams racing the circuit. Three additional facilities participated as host to the SST tour, for a total of six (6) special tour events including the US Open and the historical Race of Champions (RoC). The interest continues to expand into southern Ontario, Canada, northern Pennsylvania and New Jersey. Careful consideration toward the location of interested facilities and the ability to adapt to the SST rule parameters will dictate the direction of the Series growth. The idea is simple, create a set of rules with the interest and consistency for all divisions of short track asphalt racing. Welcome the input of supporting teams and promoters. Allow Home Track teams to travel affordably and new interests to feel confident they will be welcome everywhere.

Charter members
Chemung Speedrome, Tioga Motorsport Park, and Wyoming County International Speedway were the charter members of the new SST organization. 2004 focused on the open-wheel Sportsman Modifieds, the fastest growing division of the Northeast region. A similar merger of rules will continue through the future for support classes as well. Steps toward an SST Super Stock Series continue to take shape with a multi-track interest. See the revised Super Stock rules designed to merge the divisions of several north east facilities...SST encourages the adaptation of these rules and regulations to help collimate the process.
A three-stage point system has been designed for the Northeast SST Modified Championship. SST Home Track points added together with bonus races and 8 SST Tour Events will combine for the title. A more detailed description of the Series points system is enclosed or can be found along with the SST Sportsman Modified rules. Non-participating racetracks with Sportsman teams interested in running the SST Series will still be welcome to register and compete for the larger purses of the SST Series. ($800-$1000 to Win - $100 to take the Green). Series point’s chasers will be competing for an estimated $5000.00 to $8000.00 point fund with contingency prizes to be divided up between the top 20 teams. Marketing negotiations for title sponsors will be continuing throughout the spring
